HOW THE “VICTORY LOG” STARTED…
04/17/10 – At today’s meeting my (substitute) WW leader mentioned the importance of keeping a Victory Log. Somewhat akin to a gratitude journal, the Victory Log is a place to record all of the things we’re doing RIGHT on this journey vs. beating ourselves up over all that we (think) are doing wrong. She said it’s especially helpful to keep this journal to remind us that we’re on the right path – especially when the scale might say otherwise.
So this will be the place where I will chronicle my successes, great and small, and reinforce that *I* am following the right path.

06/16/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
Um, I dusted this part of my blog off and reminded myself to celebrate my victories.
04/24/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
Went to my Weight Watchers meeting today, even though I knew I’d gained (based on my home scale, which, yes, I have re-batteried). It’s certainly harder to sit through a meeting after a gain, but I was proud that I didn’t use it as an excuse to bail.
04/24/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
1. Went to the gym, even though I was just not feeling it and got in 45 minutes of cardio and about 15 minutes of free weights.
2. Made an absolutely delicious, low-point chicken taco dish.
04/23/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
1. Went to my meeting even though I knew it was going to be a gain, thanks to the pre-weigh at home.
2. Took Saturday as a “splurge” meal day and tracked every point.
04/22/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
I stayed within my points today.
04/21/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
Took some time to update a personal “inspiration book” – it’s a sketchbook filled with pictures, quotes, etc., to motivate and inspire me. I’m always tearing out things to put in the book but always procrastinate about doing it, so I did it. It’s a very therapeutic experience.
04/20/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
1. After realizing I’d forgotten my lunch, I went back to retrieve it because that few minutes of inconvenience “costs” me less than trying to find a points-friendly option in our Cafeteria of Doom or squeeze a lunch run into an already busy day.
2. Ignored the delicious-yet-evil smiley face cookies (free on Tuesdays) for the 6th consecutive week in a row.
3. I did not let a car accident throw me off my plan.
04/19/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
1. Packed my gym bag and put it in the car, should any crazy “ooh, I feel like working out” lightning bolt hit.
2. Planned and brought breakfast, lunch and snacks to work.
3. Made a little workout spreadsheet to track my strength training progress, now that I have a baseline to work from.
04/18/10 – Things I Did Right Today:
Went to the gym! Got back on the horse (so to speak, it was the elliptical) and gave my knee a good test run and it performed well. I no longer have to fear that I cannot be active! I CAN be active. It’s all up to me.
I really like this idea! I will have to start doing it.
Haha! Just in case the gym mood strikes! I really like the victory idea. I might use it when I go to meetig on Wed.
